Pantanal, Brazil
Brazil's Pantanal is one of the best places in the world to see and photograph wildlife. The sprawling wetlands are home to an incredible variety of animals, including jaguars, caiman, anacondas, and tapirs. But the Pantanal is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 650 different species of birds recorded in the region.
It was truly one of the most exciting moments of my trip was when we came upon a Jaguar lying on a branch of a large tree that reached out over the river. Our boat pulled up underneath the branch, and we were able to get a good look at this beautiful creature. Jaguars are the largest cats in the Americas and are an endangered species. Seeing one in its natural habitat was an amazing experience that I will never forget.
